I've Been Painting

I love all forms of art. If you have read this blog for any amount of time, surely you have come to that conclusion yourself. A couple years ago I felt this strange desire to start painting. I didn’t know where it would take me, or what it would show me, but now I can speak. Painting showed me, myself. I tried to articulate that in the video above. Stepping into a craft that I had no former experience with, proved to be very humbling.

My perfectionism came out quickly, as the colors didn’t always produce what I wanted them to. It required me to step back and let the art be. I needed to learn how to “just be.” While each painting has a story and meaning behind it, they didn’t start that way. I’m grateful for the lesson. In life, we don’t always start with what we wanted, or get what we dreamed of- the key is to let go and trust the process.
